Twice a year, every second weekend in June and November, Asheville’s River Arts District opens to the public for two days of festivities known as the STUDIO STROLL.
Studio Stroll: November 8 & 9
10am to 6pm
UPDATE: We are pleased to have the Asheville Historic Trolleys providing shuttle service this year! Strollers can catch the trolley at any stop along the route and ride between studio buildings. Asheville Historic Trolley Tours will provide this service, which will make eight stops in the District and loop back to the Chamber of Commerce in a 30-minute circuit. The fare is $5.00 for an entire day—hop on and off and visit all of the studios. Trolley drivers will provide narrative history of the River District during rides.
Don't forget, you can also visit the River Arts District year 'round to meet artists in their studios. Friday is one of the best days to find many artists working in their studios.
Now you can search for artists by the day of the week: Click any day below to discover which studios will be open during your visit!

Pick up the 2008 River District Artists Studio Guide at area hotels, restaurants and galleries for a list of artists, maps, and directions. Or download a printable map and list of artists right here (PDF: 1.1MB).
Wondering where to park during the Studio Stroll? Here's a map showing free parking lots.
During the Studio Stroll, now in its 15th year, artists of the River Arts District welcome you into their studios to talk with them, see their latest artwork, watch demonstrations, and experience for yourself the magic hidden inside the time-worn factories and warehouses along the French Broad River.
The Studio Stroll is free and open to the public. Most studios are within walking distance of each other, and there is plenty of free parking. Arrive early and stay for lunch at any of our neighborhood eateries including Clingman Cafe, Twelve Bones Smokehouse, Twin Cousins Kitchen and Greene’s Mini Mart. Go home with new ideas, gifts for friends and even something special for you.
Visit us and step into the heart of creativity!
Visit the River Arts District year 'round. There's always lots to see!
