Portraitweb Abstract painting has seemed to rise and fall in popularity, but no matter what the trends are, I continue to adopt abstract form because I feel that gesture and color, its two main forces, still sustain relevant modes expressive of our time. Abstract expressionism is well suited as a form to depict aspects of the new century such as speed, exuberance and dynamic movement in the highly technical age in which we live.    -Mary Charles Griffin
