Bee Sieburg
While studying at Chapel Hill, Bee Sieburg fell in love with abstract expressionists. To look at her paintings, it's easy to see their influence. Like the abstract Expressionists, Bee is most interested in capturing her subject's essential nature and and letting the medium do its thing. With spontaneity, she captures vitality. With a keen eye and a deft hand, Bee showcases a subject's particular beauty.
Bee approaches each new canvas with glee, as if she is approaching an old friend--and in fact, she is doing just that. By the time a painting is finished, Bee has made dear friends with it. Her irrepressible love for the subject matter and for the act of painting itself warms the painting from the inside out.
