Vase and Sculpture
copper, fold formed

I opened the school Earthspeak Arts in 2003 as an excuse to play with metal all day. The school continues to grow with students coming from around the country and region. When I am not teaching, I get to do my own work which is moving towards larger sculptural pieces in copper, silver, and bronze.

My bowls have the incredible ability to "sing" - by circling the lip with a wooden mallet this beautiful resonating tone fills the room and is even felt in the body.  They are amazing!  "Prayer" bowls are typically made out of metal or crystal, my bowls are some of the only ones in the world that are made from clay.  They are used for meditation and healing and are extremely calming.  To find out more, go to my website on IcreateIam.com

In a world of sameness, Hofman Studios offers you something truly unique. I invite you to visit our gallery and working studio to view the varied selection of handbuilt porcelain we offer for your enjoyment. Each piece of pottery is made using antique lace, some centuries old, to create objects that will be cherished for generations to come. Using the materials that nature has provided, we formulate glazes that dress each piece in a skin of dazzling colors. Colors that often mimic precious gems, stones and weathered metals.

Whether it is a vase, serving piece or a complete dinner set Hofman Studios will add an understated elegance to any setting. Beauty can be a part of everything you do, let us help you, live life artfully.

Barbaraperez600px Barbara Perez sculpts portraits and memorials in clay for individuals and groups. These are either fired or can be cast in bronze. She also creates organic, sensual sculptures and functional objects in clay, then fires them with lush, flowing glazes. This same luxuriance of color and nature-related form is found in her pastel paintings.
