I work in a sharply intuitive way. Forms erupt through the process of building up overlapping color fields. I choose the strongest or most provocative theme that emerges to develop in succeeding layers, with glimpses of others still visible as historical remnants. This leads to a rich suggestiveness, and invites the viewer to bring her own history, sensibility, and momentary perspective to the experience.

"Each creation I design is a hand built, sculptural, low fired clay form. The surfaces may be impressed and/or incised with a compilation of textures, patterns and symbols. Color is incorporated predominantly through the application of underglazes and oxide stains. Metal, hemp, raffia, and other materials may be added to elaborate and exaggerate the forms. The objective with each piece is to exhibit a contemporary interpretation of primal creations."

I experience my art as a radical response and prayer to life. Each piece develops as a deep, evolutionary process, expressing my personal spiritual journey and the vicissitudes of beingness. Each sculpture arises out of an erotic dance between my hands and the clay, as we give, yield, caress, and let go into the unknown.
