We specialize in the elusive "Copper Red" glaze, a high fired premium glaze with incredible depth. Reds are typically very difficult to achieve and only a small percentage of potters attempt to work with this beautiful but finicky glaze, especially for functional pottery.

I work in a sharply intuitive way. Forms erupt through the process of building up overlapping color fields. I choose the strongest or most provocative theme that emerges to develop in succeeding layers, with glimpses of others still visible as historical remnants. Most of my pottery is inspired in part by the human figure and the interaction between pieces in a set is an important component in my work. My background as a printmaker also comes through in some of the patterns that I apply in the use of slip and a black underglaze. I am also fascinated by the repetition of patterns that follow the shape of the pot and give texture to the glaze.
